Several devices, or several screens?

Installing a player on the TV and the phone does not, by itself, allow two streams at once. Here is the distinction.

Installing is not watching at the same time

Many households want the living-room TV, a second screen upstairs, and sometimes a phone while travelling. Those are devices. A device is where the player is installed.

A screen, in a Service IPTV package, means a simultaneous stream — a connection in use at the same time — unless configuration says otherwise. Two TVs showing two different programmes need two screens.

How to choose

If only one person watches at a time, one screen can be enough even if the player is also installed on a tablet. If two rooms watch in parallel, move to several screens.

This rule avoids surprises when a second stream is refused. It says nothing about picture quality or channel count.
